Bucks County Playhouse is accepting applications for “New Voices: Playwrights and Actors Festival, Thursdays from February 4 to March 17, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Playwrights develop a 10-minute play through a weekly workshop, participate in an intensive rehearsal process with actors and a director, then see their work come to life on the Playhouse stage.

New Jersey Democratic State Committee announced the opening of the application process for becoming a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Monday to Thursday, July 25 to 28. New Jersey Democrats interested in applying must submit a Statement of Candidacy and Pledge of Support Form, available at www.­njdems.­org/delegate. Applications must be received by Wednesday, March 16.

Completed applications will be forwarded to the campaign of the Presidential candidate to whom prospective candidates are pledging support. Prospective delegates and alternates are expected to campaign within their delegate districts on behalf of their candidates. Presidential campaigns will be responsible for selecting their delegate candidates. Once a candidate has been selected by the campaign, that candidate must file a petition with 100 valid signatures of registered Democrats who live within their Delegate District. The petition must be filed with the New Jersey Division of Elections no later than 4 p.m. on Monday, April 4.

Special efforts are being made to encourage women, ethnic minorities, LGBT, youth and disabled, among others, to participate fully in the Delegate Selection Process at all levels. Half of the state’s delegation to the National Convention must be women. Visit www.­njdems.­org for information.

Need New Skills?

Washington Crossing UMC (The Crossing) is offering a variety of weekly classes that are free tuition and open to the community. Do you want to learn a new language, fix a leaky faucet, tell a joke, or improve your PC skills? Starting in February, area residents will have the opportunity to learn new skills or brush up existing skills. Classes will run from five to 12 weeks and will be held at The Crossing and off-site locations.

A professional stand-up comedian, competitive ballroom dancers, an experienced carpenter, PC experts, and certified language teachers are among some of the volunteer instructors and helpers. Book Club Program

George Street Playhouse offers a book club discussion on “My Name is Asher Lev,” the novel by Chaim Potok or the script adaptation by Aaron Posner. A staff member will visit your book club before or after you see the show.

On Your Toes

Princeton Ballet School, the official school of American Repertory Ballet, announces its nationwide audition tour schedule for its Summer Intensive program held in Princeton, from June 27 to July 29.

Students must be ages 13 and older; classes are held at the Princeton Studio location with optional housing at Princeton University. There is an audition fee of $30 (with a pre-registration possible at $25). For those unable to make the in-person audition, a video audition is possible.
