Heads Up Special Riders seeks volunteers to help children with special needs in a therapeutic horseback riding program. Teens and adults welcome. Volunteers do not need any equestrian skills. Good Grief seeks volunteer facilitators for children who are grieving the death of a relative. The upcoming training is for those interested in making a commitment to volunteer in a peer support groups. Fresh Air Fund seeks volunteers for its host family program. Close to 4,000 inner-city children visit suburban, rural, and small town communities each summer. The boys and girls, ages six to 18 years old, live in New York City. Children on first-time visits are six to 12 years old and stay for one or two weeks. Tabby’s Place has reduced the adoption fee to $67.50 for the month of December. While Tabby’s Place is known for its special needs cats, more than 70 percent of the cats available are healthy felines.
