New Brunswick Community Arts Council and coLAB arts present “Bread for Art,” an initiative to support local artists with a cash grant, on Sunday, June 24. Area artists are invited to submit a written proposal and give an oral presentation for an arts project that they would like to present in New Brunswick. Proposals must be submitted by Monday, June 18, to Dan Swern at NBCommunityArtsCouncil@gmail.com. Include artist bio, artist statement, synopsis of the project, and how it fits into New Brunswick. The project must take place in New Brunswick and must occur within one year of the award.
Jewish Family & Children’s Service is accepting applications from college graduates for a 1,700-hour Americorps volunteer. Volunteers receive living allowance benefits and a final education award for higher education loans or tuition.Responsibilities include case management, intake, and overseeing a food pantry. Cancer Support Community Central New Jersey offers “Cancer Transitions,” a support for people who completed active cancer treatment one month to two years ago and currently have no evidence of disease. Patients are invited to bring one family member as a guest. Speakers include physicians, nurses, clinical social workers, a registered dietitian, a speech therapist, and a fitness expert.
