West Windsor Library will be holding open auditions for children ages 8 to 17, as well as some adult roles, for its upcoming Halloween Playfest. Performances on October 22 to 23 will feature short Halloween plays for actors 8 to 13; and performances on October 28 to 30 will feature a musical for actors 13 plus, “The Terrifically True Tales of a Teenage Zombie.” The auditions will take place on Saturdays, July 30 and August 6, from 2 to 4 p.m., and Wednesdays, July 27 and August 3, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the West Windsor Library, 333 North Post Road, West Windsor.

Auditions include readings from the scripts — available for inspection at the reference desk or by E-mail. For singing roles bring sheet music or choose from a selection of well-known songs. Rehearsals will begin in early September. Volunteers are needed to help with makeup, costumes, set construction, and choreography. Holy Cross Center of Learning offers classes and workshops in religion for students, age 7 and older, who are not able to function in a traditional religious education program. My College Audition’s Bootcamp is for high school students seeking a musical theater or music degree in college. Cost is $350 for the weekend.
