Newcomers Alumni

YWCA Princeton seeks current and alumni members of the Newcomers Club to celebrate its 50th anniversary wtih a cocktail party at Elements Restaurant on Thursday, March 18, 5 to 7 p.m. The club formed in 1959 as a way for new residents to settle into the community. It evolved into a social club that provides members a way to discover new interests and make lasting friendships. Princeton Garden Statesmen offer singing Valentine’s presented by a barbershop quartet at the location of your choice. Call for Art

Artworks invites artists to create an art heart for STARS (South Trenton Area Residents’ Society) by decorating a wooden heart for the group’s inaugural Hearts and Stars silent auction, an event that supports the efforts to create a community garden in the neighborhood. The auction is at Artworks on Saturday, February 27, 6 to 9 p.m. There will also be a curated show, “Depictions of Trenton” featuring paintings, photographs, sculpture, poetry, and found objects with Trenton in the subject matter. Voices invites children ages 5 to 12 to enter the annual music composition contest with a piece of music with a vocal element. They may write it down in any kind of notation and make a cassette or CD recording. Parents, piano teachers, and music teachers are invited to support but not edit the music.
