Call for Art

Arts Council of Princeton seeks artwork for the “Princeton Annual,” with a theme of “Native Son: Works Inspired by the Life and Legacy of Paul Robeson.” Artists may use Robeson’s life as an inspiration for creating a new work or submit an existing work. Deliver one or two works to the Robeson Center from Monday to Wednesday, July 27 to 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Include name, contact information, arts council membership number, title and date of work, insurance value, sale price, and a statement about the submitted work. Two dimensional works, sculpture, video (DVD), or sound. All work must be delivered ready to hang or install. Exhibition opens Monday, August 3. Capital Health is seeking art of all media from regional artists for its new hospital on Scotch Road in Hopewell. The hospital will both purchase existing work and identify artists for site-specific work to be commissioned. Artwork of all mediums and of any scale will be considered, including mural work, sculpture, tapestry, glassware, stain-glass, ceramic, woodwork, photography, printmaking, multi-media, furniture, water features, and painting. West Windsor Arts Council seeks art for “Avenue of the Arts,” an exhibit of visual arts hanging throughout MarketFair during September to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Michael Graves-redesigned shopping center. The event, a major fundraiser for the arts council to convert the Princeton Junction Firehouse to an arts center, includes a day of music and food on Saturday, September 26, a patron’s party on Saturday, September 12, shopping discounts. Palisades Insurance Highway Gallery seeks artwork inspired by New Jersey landscapes for the gallery. VSA Arts of New Jersey offers fall programs for children with autism including new creative drama and inclusive workshops. Parent/child workshops in the arts for children with autistic behavior is offered on Saturdays, September 26 to December 5 in New Brunswick, for one hour a week.
