SavATree shrub, tree, and lawn care, which operated at 19 Washington Road, has merged with Shearer/Penn. That company’s locations on Washington Road in Princeton Junction and in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, now operate as SavATree-Shearer/Penn.

Details of the merger were not made public, but Shearer/Penn’s employees have been maintained.

Voxware, a provider of voice-based technology for distribution and logistics operations, has moved its corporate headquarters from 168 Franklin Corner Road to the American Metro Center.

Winifred Donahue Answering Services has moved its offices to Hamilton. The service, founded in 1982 and employing 20, moved from 182 Nassau Street.

Founded by Bircks’ mother, who gave her name to the company, the answering service’s original business was typing. Donahue was well known in pre-computer days for typing up the manuscripts of many of Princeton’s most famous writers.

Computer Troubleshooters, a three-person firm that configures and services servers, workstations, and E-mail servers, has left its site in the Princeton Service Center. Owner John Goodman says the company is still in operation, but “out of the area.”

First Merchant Bankers, which offered merchant banking, arranged joint ventures, and handled trades, mergers, and acquisitions, has left its offices in the Princeton Service Center.

FMB’s owner, Casey Tjang also operated Erudite Information Systems, a computer training company, at the same location. That business, too, is gone. There is no forwarding information.


Anne Martindell, 93, on June 11. She was a New Jersey State Senator, an ambassador, and an author.

George Manolakis, 77, on June 12. A restaurateur who had owned the White Rose Restaurant in Trenton and Myconos in Princeton, he later worked as a Realtor at Stockton Real Estate.

Gilbert Hunt, 92, on May 30. An authority on probability theory and analysis, he was a professor emeritus at Princeton University.
