Smart IMS, a technology services firm, has acquired Atlas Communications Technology, a New York-based company that provides cloud and managed services, and its subsidiaries. The companies had been working together for several years before they established Atlas Smart IMS.
“We are honored to welcome the Atlas team to our family of companies, and to bring even more capabilities to our customers and partners,” said Amar Reddy, CEO of Smart IMS. “Atlas brings nearly two decades of success and experience working with some of the top enterprises in the financial services industry. We are particularly excited to bring the Atlas ConnX brand, with its track record of innovation in the next wave of real time communications cloud-based solutions, into our portfolio. Together we are extremely well positioned to help enterprises transform their networks, develop and roll out competitive business applications, and run more efficiently and productively than ever.”
Atlas will continue to operate as a separate brand within Smart IMS, and will be led by Indrajit “I.G.” Ghosh, most recently CTO of Atlas, focusing on the growth of cloud and managed services. The companies are consolidating their offices to Smart IMS’ global headquarters on Morgan Lane.
“There is no better fit for Atlas’ team and customers than with Smart IMS,” Ghosh said. “We will be able to better service our direct customers and large sales channels including many large communications service providers and carriers. Our deep bench of business and communications applications development talent and skills will also help customers optimize their investment in the transformation to IP networking including moving to software defined networking.”
Smart IMS now has more than 400 employees, operating in the U.S., U.K., India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.
