Take Solutions, an IT company based in Carnegie Center, has launched Navitas Life Sciences, an IT company specializing in the pharmaceutical sector. Navitas provides clinical data services, regulatory consulting, safety and quality management, network support, and other services.

The new company has hired Shalabh Kumar as head of clinical and regulatory services. Kumar was a co-founder and CEO of Kinapse, a London-based healthcare IT company.

“I am delighted to welcome Shalabh into this critical role and also as a member of our leadership team. He is a respected figure in the life sciences sector,” said Navitas CEO Jim Tizzard.

Navitas was formed in January when Take Solutions integrated its own staff with that of WCI Consulting, which it bought four years ago. Navitas is a subsidiary of Take and has about 500 employees around the world.

Stages PCS LLC, an early-stage startup technology company, has opened an office in the Princeton South Corporate Center. According to a post the company made to the American Engineering Society job message board, it is developing proprietary consumer audio technology, involving adaptive noise cancellation, in conjunction with an online platform.

The Union Center National Bank branch on Nassau Street has changed its name to ConnectOne following a merger of ConnectOne Bancorp and Center Bancorp. In the deal, which took place in 2014, Englewood Cliffs-based Connect­One merged with Union-based Center Bancorp, the parent company of Union Center National Bank.

The bank’s 24 branches took the ConnectOne name as part of the $243 million all stock deal. ConnectOne was founded in 2005 and the combined company had assets of about $3 billion in assets.

Town Topics, the weekly newspaper, has moved from Witherspoon Street to the historic Union Line building on Route 27 in Kingston.

According to a story posted on the paper’s website, the new office gives the company room to expand. Town Topics moved to Witherspoon Street eight years ago when it moved out of its longtime home at the former Priest’s Pharmacy on Mercer Street, where it had been from its founding in 1946 until 2007.

The paper said its Union Line building, a three story, 4,200 square-foot structure, was constructed in 1878 as a railroad hotel, and was home to Tuscan Hills, the home furnishings store, more recently. It was renovated in 2009.
