Spring is the perfect time to spruce up your home and make it feel fresh again. N.C. Jefferson Plumbing, Heating and AC, serving the Princeton area, is the ideal place to go for your bathroom remodeling projects.
Founded in 1947 by Norton Jefferson, Jefferson Plumbing has always been a local, family owned and operated business focused on the plumbing and heating needs of local customers. In 1989 they opened Jefferson Bath and Kitchen and expanded into fixture sales and bathroom remodeling.
Bruce Jefferson, Norton’s son, began working in the business in his teenage years and took over in 1980. After years of helping out with the family business, Bruce’s daughter, Jill, joined the company full-time in 2004.
“What makes us stand apart from other remodeling companies is that we do it all in-house,” explains Jill. Her husband, David Miller’s company, DTM Construction, is in charge of all projects. “We typically allow four to six weeks for major remodeling projects.” Customers come into their showroom to pick out fixtures. While they are not limited to the fixtures in the store, it is a great starting point will all projects. “Customers can branch out and see other choices.”
Jefferson’s team has the remodeling process down to a science. Before starting work for the day, they make sure to protect the home and their route in and out of the house with drop clothes and plastic. “When we leave for the day, home owners don’t even know we were there. We continue to work on one project until it is complete. We only take on a couple of projects at a time and never outsource.” The team works together, often helping each other out. “Having my husband, David, in charge helps a lot, too,” Jill says.
Jill feels it is a real joy to be able to work alongside her husband and Bruce, her father. “I like working with my father every day. My dad and I run this business together. We are very much family-orientated. I have been involved with the business about 10 years consistently, but really my entire life. My dad and I will go out and look at a remodeling job together, and people say ‘the whole family is here!’ I like hearing stories from our older customers about the days when my grandfather came out to their house and ‘saved the day.’”
Her passion lies in being out in the field and designing and creating a new space for her customers. “It is rewarding and fun.”
