The Monroe Township League of Women Voters contacted us just as the September 12 edition of U.S. 1 was going to press. The league wanted to inform readers of important changes to the mail-in ballot process. The most time sensitive change impacted voters who applied for a mail-in ballot for the 2016 general election. These voters had until last Friday, September 14, to remove themselves from the list of mail-in voters. If they have not done it by now, they will receive mail-in ballots for the upcoming November election.
According to the League of Women information about other changes in the election law, including new vote-by-mail ballot applications and voter registration forms are available on the league’s website, www.lwvnj.org. Voting information, including information about candidates, can be found at Vote411.org. Or voters can call the league’s toll free voter information line, 1-800-792-VOTE (8683).
