Middlesex County Business Week returns next week to offer networking and tips for running a business more smoothly.
Beginning on Monday, October 27, at 8 a.m., Business Week kicks off with the Middlesex Chamber’s “Business Awards Breakfast” at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick. The breakfast honors the business of the year, business person of the year, business woman of the year, county service, special recognition, family service, family friendly company of the year, and young entrepreneur of the year. Cost: $75.
On Tuesday, October 28, the chamber hosts the “Everything Jersey Expo,” beginning at 9 a.m. at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset. Already one of the largest business-to-business networking events in only its second year, Everything Jersey features exhibitors and workshops and an Internet cafe.
Everything Jersey’s signature events include “Procurement Village,” where merchants can meet procurement specialists from government agencies and a number of large corporations; “Business Matchmaking,” where compatible businesses are introduced to each other; and “Green Pavilion,” where companies from around the state showcase their environmentally friendly practices and procedures. The event is free to attend.
The first of two seminars held at the chamber’s One Stop Career Center on Jersey Avenue in New Brunswick, “Top 10 Ways to Streamline Your Business,” takes place on Wednesday, October 29, at 8:30 a.m. Business Week concludes with “Using the Internet to Increase Business,” featuring John Havens of Blogtalkradio.com, on Thursday, October 30, at 8:30 a.m. Each seminar costs $45.
