After a year of successfully pleasing customers, Metro North has added Saturday lunch and Sunday brunch.
The change is due to customer demand for Metro North’s signature style throughout the weekend. Now, the Princeton restaurant is open seven days for lunch and dinner.
"There’s clearly a need in this area based on the calls and inquires we received," said owner Tony Vitella. "People are looking for good, casual dining at a moderate price, and that’s what we provide."
The Sunday Brunch menu, which includes an Elderflower Mimosa, is filled with delightful bar and breakfast/lunch items. A Coconut & Melon Martini and the Metro Bloody Mary with shrimp cocktail and olives join a mix of Italian, California and organic wines.
The menu features popular brunch items such as Eggs Benedict, Buttermilk Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, and Steak & Eggs, but mixes it up with the likes of Brioche French Toast with toasted hazelnuts, Nutella, raspberries and warm Vermont syrup. Other palate-pleasing entrees are Belgium Waffle Normandy, Goat Cheese & Tomato Quiche, Butterfish & Jumbo Lump Crab Francaise, and Frittata Con Fungi. For those looking for a really hearty entrée, there’s the Pork Chop Scarpariello, an 8-ounce center cut chop grilled with hot and sweet peppers, roasted garlic, fennel sausage and rosemary roasted potatoes.
"There’s something for everyone," Mr. Vitella added.
Metro North’s mouthwatering selections also are available on the catering menu. The restaurant can hold up to 100 people for private functions. Showers, weddings, anniversary parties, corporate meetings, holiday gatherings and more are handled, soup-to-nuts, by Metro North’s experienced staff.
"We’ll customize the menu to suit your needs, depending on the occasion and the type of party," Mr. Vitella said. "Passed appetizers, buffet, sit-down dinner, bar service: we do it all."
Metro North is right down the street from McCarter Theatre for convenient pre-show dining. It boasts a large, free parking lot. The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Reservations are not required, but recommended and may be made by calling (609) 454-3121 or visiting our website.
