As a solution focused therapist my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t help difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns of negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals

Motivational Interviewing (MI): Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered, directive therapeutic style that enhances readiness for change by helping clients explore and resolve ambivalence (Miller and Rollnick 2002). It is a focused and goal-oriented method that works on facilitating and engaging motivation within the client in order to change behavior. This therapeutic relationship method resembles a partnership or companionship that always contains the best interests of the client.

Brief motivational interviewing for Depression and Anxiety: Motivational interviewing (MI) can be applied as a brief, low intensity (LI) intervention of 1 to 4 individualized sessions (typically 45 to 60 minutes in duration), including screening, assessment feedback, and psycho-education. There is a well-established evidence base for MI in the treatment of substance abuse as well as a growing evidence for the use of MI in the treatment of other mental disorders (e.g. depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD). (Hettema et al. 2005).
