You can’t beat the overhead costs of a home-based business. With technology making this option more viable all the time, and the attractiveness of low capital investment, many people are opting to shift careers to become home-based entrepreneurs.

But such an enterprise has its own unique characteristics and challenges. Princeton SCORE will hold a free workshop on starting a home-based business on Saturday, December 1, at 10 a.m. at the Hopewell branch of the Mercer County Library on Pennington-Titusville Road in Pennington. For more information, visit princeton.score.org.

This workshop discusses the pros, cons, and how-tos of running a home-based business including work space and zoning requirements, employees, insurance, licensing, and what it will require from you and your family.

The presenter, Janet R. Pickover, ran JR Associates, a meeting management, consulting, and training company, for more than 30 years. As a recognized leader in her industry, Pickover wrote articles and lectured on meeting management topics.
