You could try, but it would be hard to find a better, more peaceful, more picturesque setting in central New Jersey to host your wedding or special gala banquet than Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club.
Nestled in lush, rural Hopewell Township, just off Pennington-Hopewell Road Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club also happens to sit in the shadow of the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed. In fact, Stony Brook runs right through the property. It’s so beautiful and tranquil, the very drive to the club would be enough to give you the perfect day.
But then you get to the property, and from the moment you enter, it is abundantly clear that Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club is a special place — rich with natural beauty, a charming historic clubhouse, and meticulously landscaped grounds, Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club is a one-of-a-kind intimate setting for a country club wedding, or any social or corporate event.
The club is now under the guidance of Spirit Golf Management, the same team responsible for renovating and upgrading Bucks County’s sumptuous Makefield Highlands Golf Club. Led by Mike Attara, Spirit Golf has managed the herculean task of keeping Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club’s historic charm and attitude while upgrading the facilities to host intimate, elegant, and memorable events and ceremonies.
Attara and Spirit Golf got together with artist Richard Rutzler, owner of Future Signs in Hamilton, to help redesign aspects of the course and clubhouse, and with longtime friend John Goeke, Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club’s director of food and beverages, to create a variety of top-notch menus for any occasion.
The results of these partnerships have been palpable ‒‒ a magnificent, intimate upstairs ballroom and dining area capable of seating up to 120 guests; large bay windows provide gorgeous views of the grounds, Stony Brook, and colorful sunsets; and a large upstairs deck so that you and your guests can sip the sweet are of one of New Jersey’s most striking preserved landscapes.
Attara, incidentally, takes the natural splendor and history of Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club very seriously. The club is a registered “River Friendly” business with the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed and is, like Makefield Highlands, certified by the Audubon Society.
“Embracing the history is very important to us,” he says. “We connect to the Watershed Authority and a preserved farm … It really makes us unique. When you come here, you really know you’ve arrived, you can feel it.”
In addition to the natural majesty and what that means for wedding guests and photo opportunities, Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club also offers some new event packages ideal for fundraisers, corporate events, workshops and seminars, golf-and-dine events, parties, sweet sixteens, christenings, and other gatherings, starting at $100 per person, and that includes meals.
