Herring Properties, a developer with holdings primarily in the Mercer/Bucks region, recently announced the completion of renovations to an office complex at 23 Orchard Road in Skillman, NJ. The real estate development company acquired a full ownership position of the building in March, and is now targeting new business tenants.

“We recognize that it is difficult for smaller companies to find attractive and affordable space in the greater Princeton area,” explained Jamie Herring, Founder and President of

Herring Properties, which has co-owned and managed the 23 Orchard Road complex since 2005.

The building offers 50,000 square feet of newly configured office space with shared suites available as small as one thousand square feet. The entire complex includes 214,000 square feet of Class A office space, nearly half of which is currently occupied by Johnson & Johnson.

Herring Properties has developed and managed over 2 million square feet of space in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, including the Bristol Commerce Center in Bristol, PA, which serves as the regional headquarters for Airgas Inc.

“We have made significant investments in the 23 Orchard Road property over the past decade and have now positioned the complex to fit the needs of smaller, growing companies,” Herring said. “The site offers a bucolic setting, renewable energy, and a community setting just 10 minutes from the heart of Princeton — at half the price of similar space in downtown Princeton.”

The building features a fitness center, café, atrium and walking trails. Forty percent of the building’s electricity is supplied through renewable power from one of the largest solar arrays in Central New Jersey.

The 70-acre site will also include more than 150 townhomes and affordable housing unit apartments in a “work-live” environment, currently under construction.
