Are you looking for a place where the entire family can work out at the same time? Then Gold’s Gym, adjacent to Quakerbridge Mall in Lawrence-ville, is for you. The gym offers programs for every age group, including the youngest members of your family. Of course, explains Don Foy, general manager of the gym, babysitting services are available for children age six weeks and up. In addition, some exciting programs for children of all ages are also available.
They include Mommy and Me Yoga for parents and children age 18 months to three years and the Gold’s Gym Junior Programs: Flip’n Fit, Soccer 101 for children age 18 months to six years, swimming lessons for children from 18 months through competition age, and performance training for children of all ages.
"Where else can parents drop off their teenager for a baseball clinic and take an exercise class while waiting?" asks Foy, "Or a wife can come for a swim while her husband spends some time in our cardio cinema –– and watches a movie, too?"
Another new program this year is Flirtease Fitness, which includes several classes such as Cardio Flirtease, a fun and sexy cardio dance class, and pole workouts for several levels of fitness. And, coming in early 2010, Pilates Reformer classes will be debuting.
One of the largest facilities in the area, the gym includes three group exercise studios, 60 cycling bikes, a 3,000 square foot boxing studio, a 25-yard pool, and a cardio center with more than 150 pieces of equipment, a cardio cinema with a different movie shown every day, a women-only area, and a sports performance training center.
"Aside from delivering a great facility, our goal is to assist each and every member with achieving his or her own fitness goals," says Foy. "Our staff has the knowledge to customize a program for you, whether you are new to working out, a person looking to lose weight, or a serious athlete looking to achieve greater performance on the field."
