The Parkinson Alliance is grateful to our supporters for their participation in two fundraisers this fall: Food, Wine, and Maybe Tuscany and the 18th annual Carnegie Center 5K. More than 150 guests came out on November 4 for an evening of food, wine, and a chance to win a trip for four to Tuscany. Our thanks to Gail Ruderman, the event chair, and her committee, and to the following restaurants: Antimo’s Italian Kitchen, Bell’s Tavern, Bonefish Grill, Leonardo’s Restaurant, LilliPies Bakery, Metro North Grill, PF Chang’s, Piccolo Trattoria, Seasons 52, Small World Coffee, Smoke House Barbeque, Teresa Caffe, the Gingered Peach, and Trattoria Procaccini. Our thanks to all event sponsors including the lead sponsors: Berkshire Bank, the Bank of Princeton, and NAI Fennelly.

On September 23 more than 700 runners ranging in age from 5 to 87 participated in the 18th annual Carnegie Center 5K and Fun Run hosted by Boston Properties at Carnegie Center. There were more than 50 sponsors including Berkshire Bank and Taiho Oncology, and close to 50 local merchants donating door prizes.

These events raised more than $150,000 for the Parkinson Alliance. Net proceeds will be used to support Parkinson’s research. We could not have done this without the generous support of our sponsors and participants.

The Parkinson Alliance is now funding research that has the potential to halt or slow the progression of this disease instead of just treating the symptoms. We are making progress and every dollar makes a difference.
