Richard Coffee Sr., 92, on February 19. Elected mayor of Lawrence Township in 1957, he later held many elected and appointed positions over a 40-year political career including Mercer County freeholder, where he was a key figure in the development of the Mercer County Airport and the Mountainview Golf Course. He also established the county park commission and has been called the “father” of the county park system. As a businessman, he founded and ran Town Financial Corp.
Anthony Fazio, 63, on February 20. He was employed by Carter-Wallace in Cranbury.
James Fox, 62, on February 20. He twice served as commissioner of transportation, once under Jim McGreevey and again under Chris Christie. He was chief of staff or advisor to four governors, chief of staff to Senator Robert Toricelli, director of the Democratic senatorial campaign committee, and leader of Barack Obama’s Florida campaign in 2008. He was involved in New Jersey’s assault weapons ban, restrictions on ocean dumping, and many other policy issues. Together with a partner, he led River Crossing Strategy Group in Trenton and New York.
