The Capital Singers of Trenton has enjoyed a rich and long-standing relationship with Westminster Choir College. This amazing community-based choir was created 13 years ago from the brainchild of Richard Loatman, alumnus of Westminster Choir College. Loatman’s vision continues to this day and is thriving under the care of Vinroy D. Brown Jr., a current adjunct professor of Sacred Music and former student from Westminster Choir College. Vinroy continues to carry the torch of Loatman’s vision for CST with his experience, commitment, and a passion for sacred music.
The Capital Singers of Trenton are committed to sharing their love of music through their uplifting performances. As a mixed chorus, their door is open for anyone who wishes to become a member of their ensemble. They are composed of amateur and semi-professional performers. Their community members are a compilation of teachers, musicians, members of Westminster Choir College, and friends & families from around the Trenton area.
The Capital Singers of Trenton showcases and enriches the culture of our surrounding area. Working with other organizations they use their talents for community outreach and to perform for local charities. The Capital Singers of Trenton can be seen performing in the towns of West Windsor, Princeton, Warminster, and Cranbury. The CST rehearses for these performances at the Historical Sacred Heart Parish, at 343 South Broad Street, Trenton. They rehearse two Sunday evenings each month, with an additional rehearsal for their Chorale. Sacred Heart is a church with a deep history, accepting to all, and their values reflect the mission & vision of The Capital Singers of Trenton.
