Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell has been named one of America’s Best Breast Centers by the Women’s Choice Award, a trusted referral source for the best in health care. The Women’s Choice Award empowers women to make smart health care choices by identifying the country’s best health care institutions based on evidence-based criteria that consider female patient satisfaction and clinical excellence. The award signifies that Capital Health is in the top 8% of 4,812 U.S. hospitals offering breast care services.
“When the Center for Comprehensive Breast Care was first established at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell, the goal was to provide patients in the region with the best possible breast care in a personalized environment,” said Dr. Lisa Allen, a fellowship trained breast surgeon and director of the Capital Health Center for Comprehensive Breast Care. “Earning this recognition for a third consecutive time is the result of the hard work and efforts of all of our physicians, nurses and the other members of our breast care team who remain committed to providing exceptional personalized care for women with breast cancer by treating the whole person and not just the disease.”
The methodology used to select Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell as one of America’s Best Breast Centers is unique in that it evaluates Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey results along with primary research about women’s health care preferences.
The list of 384 award winners, including Capital Health’s Center for Comprehensive Breast Care, represents breast centers that have met the highest standards of breast care in the nation as set by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and carry the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) seal from the American College of Radiology.
Capital Health’s Center for Comprehensive Breast Care provides a complete range of services under one roof, from annual screenings and advanced diagnostics to genetic testing, leading-edge cancer care and a high risk breast cancer program. The Center includes the latest medical technologies and physicians who can address a variety of breast related conditions, either malignant in nature (cancerous) or benign. The warm, patient-centered environment even includes a salon and spa with special programs for women undergoing cancer treatment.
The Center offers the full scope of breast care, from cancer to cysts, abscesses, lesions, breast pain and other breast-related disorders. Breast cancer patients are cared for by a team that collaborates closely to ensure they receive the most effective treatment.
