Adventure. Swimming. Sports. Fun times with friends. That’s what summers are made of, and this year Camp YMCA at Rider University is poised to provide all that…and so much more…to our region’s young people.

Built on an innovative partnership with Rider University, Camp Y at Rider brings together students from diverse backgrounds in Mercer and Bucks counties and provides them with a unique mix of traditional summer camp activities and academic enrichment opportunities. Campers may spend the morning playing traditional sports and the afternoon exploring their scientific curiosity through STEM programming. They may start the day expressing their creative side through pottery and end the day with photography. And a day that includes swimming and water sports could also include multi-cultural activities designed to celebrate the diversity of our region.

“By taking a traditional summer camp program and placing it in a university setting, we are able to provide our campers with an experience unlike any other,” says Trenton YMCA CEO Sam Frisby. “Our kids can explore their talents, make friends from diverse backgrounds, and learn more about the world around them, all while creating lasting memories of summer fun.”

Because of the unique partnership between the Y and Rider University, Camp YMCA at Rider is able to offer benefits that no other camp in our area can offer at a tuition rate designed for working families. In a departure from most day camps in our area, there is no additional charge for Before- or After-Camp Care. Additionally, both breakfast AND lunch are provided for campers in the university’s dining halls as part of their tuition.

“We wanted to create a summer camp experience that challenges our kids and is convenient for their families, and I think we’ve achieved that,” Frisby says. “Our first year was a huge success! We can’t wait to welcome our campers back to Rider this summer, and meet campers who will join us for the first time. Exploring the world around you. Learning new things. Challenging yourself. That’s what summers are made of at Camp YMCA at Rider University.”
