Since we opened Brick Farm Market in the summer of 2013, we have been dedicated to bringing our customers the very best in nutritious, tasty, and local food. The market, housed in a renovated brick building that had been a car dealership since the early 1900s, has everything you need to put together a complete meal at home, or to enjoy one at the market: a butcher, a cheese counter, artisanal charcuterie and cold cuts, a produce department, prepared foods, a fresh juice counter, a coffee bar, a full bakery on premises, and various and essential grocery items.
Every day — often twice a day — the produce farmers at Double Brook Farm pick vegetables and fruits at their peak of freshness and deliver them to the Brick Farm Market, less than a mile down the road in Hopewell. Now that summer is here, the vegetables are hitting fast and furious: carrots, kale, fennel, herbs, lettuce, cucumbers, beets, broccoli, squash, scallions, and so much more! What is not ready at the moment (think tomatoes, onion, potatoes) we source from other local, fair-trade, and/or organic farms. All of our Double Brook Farm produce is free of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, making them an easy and healthy choice for a quick snack, a fresh-pressed juice or an elaborate cooking effort.
Double Brook Farm is also our partner for local, sustainably-raised meats and eggs. Antibiotic and hormone free, our animals are raised on pasture the way nature intended. The lambs graze on fresh grass and rotate pastures daily to access sweet, tender shoots and let the grazed fields rest. Our chickens are also moved every day and roam freely, feasting on grasses and bugs that supplement their feed to make extremely flavorful poultry and eggs that have deep orange yolks. The hogs are rotated from pasture to pasture, but their favorite time of year is when they’re let loose in the vegetable gardens to do some “tilling!” Our beef, sourced from Thistle Creek Farm, is once again 100 percent grass fed, hormone and antibiotic-free, and is moved on pasture using one man on a horse and his dog.
Pair our vegetables with our pastured meats and eggs and you have a nutritious meal that will taste as good as you feel about cooking it! Please contact our staff for special cuts, bakery orders, cheese platters, catering possibilities, and anything else that helps you bring the flavors of our market into your home.
