Fall at the Brick Farm Market brings a crush of activity. Fall veggies are in from the field, warming dishes are being prepared, and the market is transforming for the cooler weather. Specifically … it’s time to order your Thanksgiving turkey! Be on the lookout for our menu and ordering forms, which will be online by October 1.
Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday for food and family and we want to make yours the best it can be. Our farm, Double Brook Farm in Hopewell, raises heritage breed turkeys on pasture. They are born and raised right here in Hopewell and sold fresh, not frozen, for your Thanksgiving feast. It is a difference you can taste! In addition to our turkeys, you may order other meats, sides, breads, pies, salads, sweets, appetizers, and more to either complete your meal or simply fill in what you don’t have time to cook.
The Market will also be hosting a signature event on Saturday, November 2: the NOCHE DEL PUERCO Artisanal Butcher’s Dinner starting at 7 p.m. This evening of education and delicious food will be led by our skilled butcher, Karina Fengler, and executive chef, Chase Gerstenbacher.
As guests follow the discussion of pork cuts from snout to tail, they will enjoy a tapas-style dinner of seven courses created Chef Gerstenbacher using our heritage breed pork. He will offer a brief description of each course and answer any questions about preparation. Tickets are $75 per guest (including tax & gratuity) with an optional pairing of NJ’s local Ironbound Cider for $5 a can. As always, guests are welcome to BYOB. The evening is limited to 24 guests. Fall is also a great time to enjoy the flavors of our Bone Broth Bar. We slow simmer the bones of our GMO-free, pastured raised cattle, pigs, lamb, and chickens to deliver a broth chock full of nutrients that are easy to digest and delicious. Get it plain or with added flavors such as curry, BBQ or coconut/lime. You can also pick it up frozen to drink at home or use to add healthy depth to stocks, stews, soups and chilis.
