Spring is in the air at Blooming Grove Inn. Located at 234 West Upper Ferry Road in Ewing, near Villa Victoria Academy, Blooming Grove Inn is a cozy, neighborhood restaurant with great food and great service. They are located on a quiet residential street that is easily accessible from major roads.

Owner Steve Jordan and his staff are setting up high top tables on the patio to take advantage of the warm spring and summer evenings. Enjoy happy hour and dinner al fresco. The Blooming Grove Inn is introducing a new cocktail list and small plate menu to coincide with outdoor dining season. Jordan and Chef Mike Sujansky are working together to create a special spring/summer menu.

The Blooming Grove Inn’s extensive garden is springing back to life for the third year, bringing herbs and vegetables, including tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, and herbs to be used in their kitchen.

Reservations are being accepted for Easter Sunday on April 16 and Mother’s Day on May 14. On both days the restaurant will be open from 1 to 7 p.m. and diners may order from the regular dinner menu, or select one of the chef’s specials.

The Blooming Grove Inn is a restored 150-year-old white clap-board Victorian farmhouse. Jordan retained its homey feel when in 2014 he purchased the former Paulie’s Anna Rose and began massive restorations. “It is more open. Before the main entrance was in the back. You didn’t know where to go [when entering the restaurant]. There was a narrow doorway to the bar area. You had to look around for someone to help you. Now we have French doors in the bar area so you can see the whole restaurant.

“I live here. I want people to feel as if they are a guest in my house,” adds Jordan.

“Our menu stands out,” Jordan says. “We have sea scallops, roasted duck and New York Strip, as well as some of the restaurant standards such as Chicken Parmesan.” Jordan describes his restaurant as a “casual fine dining American restaurant.”

Jordan has high praise for his staff. Chef Mike “is good at taking things you don’t think go together, but do. It tastes really good.” Julia LaCava, in addition to being the front of house manager, also makes their famous banana cream pie.

Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. The private dining room in Blooming Grove Inn is a homey, warm, perfect place for hosting your next special event.
