Bio-1, the consortium that looks to promote science and biotech research in central New Jersey, is seeking proposals in three categories for the next round of funding to transform the region’s bioscience workforce development efforts: International Biotech Workforce conference; laboratory assistant training program; and natural product training tools.

Deadline for receipt of the proposals is Friday, April 17, at noon, but the consortium will hold a pair of free teleconferences to review the guidelines and answer questions on Monday, March 30, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday, March 31, at 10 a.m. To dial in to either teleconference, call 978-964-0049. You will be asked to enter a participant passcode, which is 551897#.

The proposals should address Bio-1’s guiding principles for projects, which are strategic alignment and portfolio fit, transformational, leveraged resources, scalable, and sustainable. Applicants are encouraged to look for new ways to collaborate with other organizations.

Eligible applicants for Bio-1 funding include 501(c)3 non-profit organizations, individual businesses or business partnerships, educational entities, economic development organizations, workforce intermediaries, and community-based organizations.
