Back-to-School
Drive for homeless kids of Mercer County. This year’s campaign is
chaired by Avery Brooks, best known for his Star-Trek role as Captain
Benjamin Sisko. "Society really wants these kids to do well. But
that’s difficult if they don’t even have shoes. They desperately need
new supplies if they’re to fit in with the other children and have
a chance to succeed both socially and academically," says
HomeFront
executive director Connie Mercer. Last year the program helped 761
children go back to school with new clothes and school supplies.
