Historian Ted Widmer’s recently released book, “Lincoln on the Verge,” brings the era to life by taking readers on Lincoln’s 13-day, 1,900-mile train multi-city journey from his home in Springfield, Illinois, to the nation’s capital. The trip includes stops in Princeton and Trenton.
