Supporting the Power of One-to-one

Every year, Salt Creek Grille in Forrestal Village chooses a charity to support with a “menu fundraiser” and special events. This year the restaurant chose Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County (BBBS-Mercer) and will host a “Summer Charity Classic” on Wednesday, July 15. The event will include a classic car display, a special menu of summer classics from the Salt Creek chefs, an open bar serving an assortment of fine wines and summer cocktails, a DJ, and the opportunity to participate in a chance auction. BBBS Mercer will be honoring TYCO International at the event in recognition of the many contributions made by the company and its employees in support of the youth mentoring organization.

The funds raised at the event and throughout the year-long menu fundraiser — in which Salt Creek Grille donates one dollar from every order of its herb roasted chicken dish on both its lunch and dinner menus to BBBS-Mercer — will be used to support the organization’s youth mentoring programs, helping children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships.

Summer Charity Classic, Salt Creek Grille, One Rockingham Row, Forrestal Village, Plainsboro. Wednesday, July 15, 5:30 to 9 p.m. Classic car display, summer tunes with DJ T-Bone, summer cocktails, food, and auction benefit for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County. $50 in advance/$60 at the door. 609-656-1000 or www.bbbsmercer.org.
