Work from Home Expo Comes to Somerset
by Scott Morgan

Odds are, your spam filter is full of E-mails promising you great riches that you can reap just from sitting at your computer in a robe. And if not, there are plenty of infomercials willing to take your money in exchange for the secrets to soaring success.

But as tough as it might be to believe, there are genuine work-at-home businesses out there. Net-Work Expo, a traveling conference of legitimate, screened work-at-home companies, will come to Somerset on Sunday, January 10, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel. Cost: $5.

Complimentary babysitting services by licensed childcare professionals will be available. Visit www.net-workexpo.com for more information.

Numerous exhibitors, such as Avon, green home, health, and office products seller OnlyGreen, and gourmet food maker Tastefully Simple will be among the dozens of exhibitors looking to match workers with home-based opportunities.

The expo will feature Alex McCord, star of the reality Television series “Real Housewives of NYC” and director of creative operations for Second Time Around, a privately held chain of upscale designer resale shops along the East coast; Evie DiPizza, career coach and author of “Direct Sale Millionaire; Garland Webb, COO of New Century Income Tax in Linden, who will speak on how small and home business can make sense of taxes and finance; Mark Scuderi, owner of two ReMax businesses and author of “It’s Not By Chance: How to Overcome What’s Holding You Back;” and Rina Valan, owner of Fantasia Home Parties, a national female-oriented adult home party franchise based in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The expo is the brainchild of Jennifer Colamedici, the mother of a special needs child who operates her own real estate business from her Westfield home, and Susan Powell, a former pharmaceutical manager.

Colamedici says she came up with the idea as a way to alleviate the pressures on stay-at-home moms.

“It’s challenging for me to balance my work priorities with being a mom,” says Colamedici, whose husband is a police officer. “I thought others must experience the same complications I do, and that they needed someone to help them separate the thousands of work-from-home opportunities on the Internet from companies that are the real deal.”

Vendors are rigorously screened to make sure all deals are real, she says. “We’re out to educate, inspire, and save time for other moms who are looking for the right fit — opportunities that do not include heavy up front fees and product purchases.”

Many thanks to Jen and Susan for all their efforts in making this happen. So many people are looking for something else, a plan B, after the disastrous 2009 economic meltdown!

We can provide solutions for those that want to create a prosperous 2010, and become leaders of the future economy!

Will YOU be there?

To OUR success,

Bud Foltyn
